The Western Instruments WM-Series Permanent Magnet Yoke is a great convenience in Magnetic Particle Inspection, due to their complete portability, as no electricity is required. All WM-Series Yokes utilize Rare Earth Magnet Cartridges specifically manufactured to our high performance needs. WM-Series Yokes lift over 60 Pounds, and with recharging not being necessary, the minimum lift of 50 pounds (23 Kg) is assured for years. Aplications: Automotive, Aerospace, Weld Inspection, Pressure Equipment, Piping, Fabrication, Manufacturing. All WM-Series Yokes are delivered with a Calibration Certificate and Operators Manual.

The Western Instruments WC-9 Cordless Magnetic Yoke is a testing instrument that represents one of the greatest technical advancements in the Portable Magnetic particle Testing Equipment Industry. It offers total operator mobility. Western Instruments' WC-9 is the only Cordless Yoke in the world. The WC-9 uses the basic Western Instruments WC-Series Platform. This Platform design is similar to our standard W-Series Platforms, but far more compact. This construction versatility is possible through our advanced Mechanical, Electrical, and Solid State Electronics designs. These designs permit the WC-Series to use our standard low profile sealed membrane activation switch, continuing our philosophy for operator safety, as the switch has a grounding provision and conducts less than Watt of power. The urethane rubber housing provides superior durability in rugged environments. The ergonomically designed housing combined with its light weight, reduces operator fatigue and strain permitting better and longer inspections. The compact design allows the WC-9 to fit into confined spaces better than our full size W-Series Models. Combined with our Universal Articulating Pole Pieces, so the WC-9 can fit almost any configuration of work piece. All W-Series Yokes have more height between the operator's hand and the work piece, which means faster inspection due to a larger view of the target area. The WC-9 represents one of the greatest technical advancements, in the Portable Magnetic Particle Testing Equipment Industry, with total operator mobility. The WC-9 draws 0.5 Amps, so the 13.2 Volt Battery (1.5 Amp Hours) provides a full 2 hours of continuous operation, translating (*) into a typical working day for most operators. The individual cells of the WC-9's Battery Pack are not 'potted', so the Pack can be rebuilt.

The Western Instruments WE-7 Compact AC/DC Magnetic Yoke is the worlds lightest and most compact AC/DC Yoke. The WE-7 is equipped with a simple AC or DC Selector Switch. This MPI Yoke has a 6 position rotary switch for AC or 5 preset DC intensities, making the only AC/DC Yoke able to provide linear DC adjustments. The WE-7 is based on the industry standard for Yoke construction, however has Western Instruments Ruggedness and Quality built in. The WE-7 utilizes a standard micro-switch for activation, but the switch cover is our exclusive Slip in design. Like all WE-Series Yokes, the Power Cord Strain Relief is the toughest in the business. The ergonomically designed housing combined with its light weight, reduces operator fatigue and strain, for more effective inspections. The compact design also allows the WE-7 to fit into confined spaces better than any other AC/DC Yoke on the market. The urethane rubber housing provides superior durability in rugged environments, so the WE-7 is suitable for the high Arctic or the Sahara desert. The WE-7 lifts over 10 pounds (4.5kg) in AC Mode and lifts over 50 Pounds (23kg) in DC Mode, exceeding ASTM or ASME Specifications. The WE-7 is equipped with infinitely variable DC output, so depending on the workpiece size, the operator doesnt have to risk saturating a small part. The WC-8 uses Western Instruments WC-Series Platform, which is utilized in all the WC-Series models. This Platform design is similar to our standard W-Series Platform, but far more compact and with the Urethane Rubber housing providing superior durability in rugged environments. This construction versatility is possible through our advanced Mechanical, Electrical, and Solid State Electronics designs. These designs permit the WC-Series to use our standard low profile sealed membrane activation switch, continuing our philosophy for operator safety, as the switch has a grounding provision and conducts less than 1/2 watt of power. All W-Series Yokes have more height between the operator's hand and the work piece, which means faster inspections due to a larger view of the target area. All these advancements permit all our 12 Volt Pulsed DC Yokes to have a 100% duty cycle! The AC field provides maximum magnetic particle mobility, which causes particles to migrate quickly and congregate at defects. Furthermore, to demagnetize the part, the operator simply keeps the unit activated while pulling the yoke off the work piece.

The Western Instruments W-PT Pull Test Bars is used to verify the performance of a Yoke. Each W-PT is traceable to NIST, and supplied with a Certificate of Compliance to; ASTM-E1444; E709; and ASME Section V, Article 7. Each Bar is equipped with; a Machined Groove, to ensure the Yoke Legs are centered laterally; a hole in the center to permit multiple bars to be fastened together; as well as a Serial Number for tractability. Furthermore each bar has a Pole Spacing Scale (Imperial and Metric) affixed to one side, as most specifications now include Pole Distance and Weight for Calibrating Yokes
